Donate Ways to donate Ways to donate Donate online Securely donate online and choose to support our appeals or a specific area in the hospital which means a lot to you. Donate button is at the top of this screen Regular giving Regular giving is very important to the James Paget University Hospital Charity – knowing that we can rely on donations throughout the year means we can plan ahead and investigate funding even more projects to make our hospital even better. It’s often easier to find, for example, £5 a month than £60 in a lump sum and you can choose the amount that fits into your budget, how often you would like to make a donation and which payment method is best for you. Don’t forget Gift Aid! If you are a UK tax payer, you can increase your gift by 25 per cent at no extra cost to you. See our Gift Aid page Fundraiser pack for more information. Donate by post If you would rather not donate online, then please send a cheque in the post directly to our address. Your donation will ensure that we can keep providing the very best equipment and facilities for patients and their families at the James Paget University Hospital. We gratefully accept gifts for all areas of the hospital, but also have a general fund for priority appeals. If you would like to specify where you would like your donation to be allocated, please include a note with your cheque. Payroll giving Payroll giving is a simple and tax-effective way of making a regular donation to the James Paget University Hospital . It works by deducting a sum from your pre-tax income on a regular basis, giving it to the charity of your choice. This means that you are making a tax-free donation from your pay – a donation of £1 to the charity costs you only 78p if you are a standard rate tax payer (22 per cent). Provided your employer already offers a scheme, then donating by payroll giving is easy – all you will need to do is complete an instruction form and return it to us and we will do the rest. The form authorises your employer to make the deductions from your salary on our behalf. The deductions will then be sent to a Payroll Giving Agency approved by the Inland Revenue who will then forward the donations on to The James Paget University Hospital If your employer doesn’t already offer a scheme then why not suggest they start one? Payroll giving schemes are inexpensive to run and can be set up in just four simple steps – what’s more, all of the administration and set-up costs are tax deductible! Four simple steps for employers: To set up a payroll giving scheme all your need to do is: 1) Fill in a simple contract with a registered Payroll Giving Agency (https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/payroll-giving-approved-agencies) 2) Promote the scheme to your employees and give them the sign-up forms 3) Make the monthly deductions along with your other standard payroll deductions 4) Send one payment out to your agency – they will then handle all of the administration and make the distributions to the donors’ various charities for you.
